This time, she shares hints to make the school year a rousing success for her readers. Cleverly formatted as a ring-bound, composition-style black-and-white notebook, Park's Junie divides her wisdom into five sections. Written with Ms. Park's trademark humor, this book addresses the heft of a backpack, cautioning that the heaviest load is a bad note from a teacher. Rules of the bus are edged out by Junie's musings on the fantasy idea of a car pool, where children actually splash around in delight. Suggestions to stay out of trouble and what to do if one gets into trouble may not keep a child saintly, but the admonition that "[t]eachers are tattletales" may help. "Delightful" is a good word to describe this guide. Included in this 120-page, ring-bound book are stickers and button covers as well as a generous supply of blank pages for the reader to jot down her thoughts. Simple illustrations are mostly of the stick-and-ball variety. Although aimed at the beginning reader, many older primary children will certainly enjoy reading and writing in this book.     I LOVED IT AS MUCH AS MY GRANDDAUGHTER!

    The Junie B books are adorable. They are funny and so cleverly written they are a pleasure to read to my Granddaughter and she just loves them. She is a first grader and the experiences are exactly what she has gone through this year. I hope Junie goes to the second grade with her.

    Junie B.'s Essential Survival Guide to School by Barbara Park

    Our Grandson loves all of the Barbara Park's Junie B. Jones Books. He especially is enjoying the latest one that we gave him which is the Junie B.'s Essential Survival Guide to School. The particular book holds his attention for a long time, and he enjoys one helping him to read it over and over. The story content as well as the illustrations is not lacking in holding one's interest. Our Grandson's Kindergarten Teacher introduced his class to the Junie B. Jones Series. Ever since then, he has collected all of Barbara Park's June B. Jones Series. His favorite so far is the Junie B.'s Essential Survival Guide to School. One might be safe in saying he is getting prepared for entering First Grade this coming Fall. :o)

    Our 6 year old grandaughter loves Junie B.

    Since she is a good reader in first grade, she delights in this book of fun stuff about school and friends.

    This "Junie B." is hilarious!

    True to her style, Barbara Park does not disappoint with this book. My daughter, son, and I laughed so hard reading this book. As always, Junie B. suffers from her obvious mistakes, but, with the help of family and friends, does the right thing and prevails in the end. She also shares a wealth of information based on her own "life experiences" about the do's and don'ts of school life.
    Grandpa Frank Miller is a wonderful illustrator as well=)

    Junie B Does It Again!!

    I bought this book for my daughter (going into 4th grade). She's read every single Junie B book and has loved them all. She read this one cover to cover in one day with absolutely NO promting from me. She loved it!! She even read parts of it a second time, AND took it with her to Day Care to share with several of her friends. It's a great book and children from 8 to 80 will love Junie B's view on the Essentials for surviving school.
