Jurassic Park [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - William Ruhlmann
John Williams' score for what has become the most successful movie of all time is similar to his scores for other popular Steven Spielberg films. He remains firmly in the tradition of the lush, heavily orchestrated score. This is the first horror movie he and Spielberg have collaborated on since Jaws, but there is nothing like the threatening theme that helped define that monster movie here. Instead, there is a lot of quiet music, a much more subtle touch, and a wistful theme that runs throughout, although things do come to a boil now and then.

    I'm Speechless. Terrific Movie

Some of the most classic moments in movie history were made on this: raptors in the kitchen, the rainy night with the electric cars, no expense, this list could go on forever. Great movie.

    Another classic Williams score

He soes it again. His unblemished track record remains, um, unblemished! I love the second track - "Theme from Jurassic Park" - the most! Ranks up there with 'Star Wars' and 'Indiana Jones'!

    Great movie and soundtrack

I think this movie is on of a kind. I think the music to the soundtrack is just great. My favorite one is at the end when they are leaving the island. I like when the piano is playing calm at the end of the movie. It's a really good soundtrack!

    Amazing

John Williams is a brilliant composer, he has shown us that a lot over the years, and this soundtrack backs up that statement. He gave us a soundtrack full of amazing light fun songs, fast scary songs, and the emotional and powerful songs. He brought us everything in this soundtrack. Very good, recommended to anyone who loves great music.

    John Williams does it again

The Jurassic Park soundtrack is one of the best motion picture soundtracks ever. Journey to the Island greets you with the bouncy violins that symbolize the chopper the stars ride in. Suddenly as the island appears, a triumphant theme, played by majestic trumpets and rhythmic violins, exerts the total awesome power of Jurassic park. Williams totaly outdid himself . . . again.

    A Masterpiece!

Ranks up there with Indiana Jones, JAWS and Star Wars. A Must to anyone who likes John Williams and Spielburg Movies. The Horns really bring out the fear during the Raptor Attack and the awe that the theme instils in you is tremendous.

    Incredible Writing

This soundtrack opened my eyes to the music of John Williams, who in my opinion is one of the best composers out there. The themes of this soundtrack, particularly those with the trumpet solo, are my favorite instrumental songs, and I recommend them to anyone who likes classical music. If you are bored by other classical composer, give John Williams a try, his music certainly caught my attention, and this soundtrack could be his best work.

A GREAT SOUNDTRACK TO A GREAT MOVIE

John Williams creates a creepy melody for Steven Speilberg's greatest movie: JURASSIC PARK. The music creates a suspence so great that even if you weren't watching the movie and only listening to the CD, you'd get goose bumps and jump as strings and brass suddenly burst out at you. This is the soundtrack, always haunting, createing a real world for the run-a-muck dinosaurs and giving them real feeling.
