    Out of date Reasoning

As a school librarian of 20 years I was very disappointed in this book. Mercer Mayer's Little Critters have always been very reliable and 'safe' to read to young children. This books is totally out of line in a time when chidren are taught NOT to fight back in a bullying situation. My school Resource teacher says it should be shredded!!!!

Book suggests violence is the only solution that works on bullies!

As a long time reader of the 'critter' books by the Mayers, I was surprised at how horrible this book is. The authors have the character who is being picked on get into a fist fight to resolve his problems with a bully. A second threat of violence is used by the character's little sister to keep the bully from bothering her. Very irresponsibly written book during a time when dealing with bullies has become serious business. I expected a lot more from the Mayers.
