Overview

Good girls stay away from Ryder Briggs . . . or, at least, they try to. In the first emotional novel of heartache and seduction in Renita Pizzitola’s Crush series, one college freshman just can’t get enough.

Brinley Dawson doesn’t drink, she studies—and despite the accusations of her alcoholic mother, she’s still a virgin. But if Brinley’s life is so put together, why is she freaking out to be going to college with the gorgeous, green-eyed jerk she kissed on a stupid dare in high school? Ryder Briggs can have any girl he wants . . . and the rumors say that he does. So why, after publicly embarrassing Brinley four years ago, is he suddenly acting like he’s interested?

Ryder never forgot Brinley. In fact, those perfect seven minutes permanently raised the bar for what a kiss could be. The truth is, Ryder doesn’t dare get too close to anyone. He knows how that worked out for his parents. But when his roommate takes a shot at Brinley, Ryder can’t contain his jealousy. Now he must do the hardest thing he’s ever done: forget about sex and convince Brinley his feelings are real.

Brinley isn’t sure whether she believes Ryder, but for the first time, her body isn’t playing by the rules. Then she discovers that she’s an unwilling part of a cruel game, humiliating her all over again—and Ryder might be to blame. Has Brinley’s little crush turned into a huge mistake . . . or has she found the one guy worth trusting with her heart?

Brinley's trying to stay out of trouble and concentrate on school. Only hitting the party scene when her bestie Mason drags her out. Not an introvert, just a shy young girl. Then she runs into Ryder. The man who was her high school crush until he humiliated her at a birthday party playing spin the bottle. She hated him ever since then and did her best to stay away from him. But he's so cute! Ryder won't ever forget that kiss while playing spin the bottle. Brinley had ruined all future kisses for him. When he sees her at a party with Noah, he's determined to keep her away from him. He's only trouble. And Brinley doesn't deserve more humiliation. But that's what happens anyway. I liked this book. The author keeps a good pace throughout the book and keeps you guessing the whole time. I thought I knew what was going to happen, but I was wrong. There was always something going on and and I had a hard time putting this book down. *I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

I wished that this story would have also included Ridge's pov, especially during a couple of the scenes. I had hoped that he would have gone into more detail about how Brinley's kiss had made him feel when they kissed for the first time. I knew that something big was going to happen, but the point system was not what I was expecting. Even though Ridge didn't know that Brinley had been added to the site, he obviously had been participating with others. There were a few things that happened that were never fully explained. Overall, I liked the story, I just wish that there would have been more to it.

This story is so sweet it has the perfect mix of romance, happiness, sadness, anger, friendship, family drama, heartache, love and sensuality. I've had this book in my library for awhile but put off reading it. And now I'm so glad I finally did. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

A wonderfully written story of first love. With strong characters, a nice pace, and a satisfying conclusion, Just a Little Crush is a book you won't want to miss. This is the first book I've read by Renita Pizzitola, but it won't be the last.

Loved it. Can't wait for more. Just the right balance of character development and romance but not too graphic. Wish it were longer!

I really enjoyed Brinley ad Ryder's story.  Brinley was just trying to forget the horrors of high school (aren't we all!) and move on with her new college life when she ran into the one that caused her pain. Ryder was the cocky, gorgeous, playboy that every girl swooned over, except the one that he truly wanted. I think this story was a wonderful tale of young love.  The story always kept you guessing and had some great unexpected elements that I loved.  The only thing that I would have wanted to see was a bit more detail into the back stories of the characters. This was truly a book that I could not bring myself to put down.  I highly recommend anyone who loves a good romance to read this book. *I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*

I really enjoyed this book! Brinley is on the sweet and innocent side. She's a college student, a virgin, and she doesn't really party or drink. Ryder is a man-whore who gave Brinley her very first kiss. Ryder is mysterious and maybe even has some secrets. Brinley and Ryder together have some amazing chemistry. I also really liked a lot of the supporting characters. As much as I liked this book, I felt like there was something missing and I just can't put my finger on it, just something small that kept it from being a 5 star read for me. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading the next book in this series!

4 Sweet Stars Brinley is enjoying college but in all honesty she would be happy to study and hang out with her best friend Mason. Unfortunately, supporting her best friend puts her at a party where she comes across the sexy guy who humiliated her years before in high school, Ryder Briggs. Brinley catches Ryder's attention when she goes for a walk with his roommate Noah. Despite her best effort to avoid Ryder from that point on she continues to run into him on many occasions and ends up with him, in his room one night while hanging out with Noah. The pair start to explore their feelings for each other. Ryder starts to turn over a new leaf in an effort to spend time with Brinley and truth be told, despite her earlier anger, she has never gotten over her attraction to Ryder. The story has many different aspects to it. There is the friend who wants to be more, the one night stand king trying to change, and the girl who has every guy lusting after her but she doesn't even know it. Unexpected was the great friend she finds in her roommate Fallon who I swore was gonna be a total skank.  I enjoyed how this couple have their issues due to their families but I didn't think it was overly dramatic, it just helped to provide the right amount of background to explain their reservations. Now towards the end we hit the thing that has the potential to ruin everything for Brinley and Ryder and I never expected it. I liked the way it played out and it did help to explain some subtle interactions I had not understood previously. The best part was that this too was not drawn out and I really loved the way everything gets resolved. Pizzitola does a great job with the pace of the story and I found myself reading through the book pretty quickly. Their is enough chemistry with the characters to make things a little steamy and there are some funny moments thrown in too. I have to say I absolutely loved the characters names in this story as they were unique and really seemed to fit the characters well. An enjoyable book I have no hesitation recommending. I loved the characters in this book a lot! They actually speak, think and react like real people. The story is just as real and interesting without going over the top. The interaction between Brinley and Ryder is sweet and hot, I love them together. I wasn't sure what to think about Fallon in the beginning, but that changed by the end of the book and I'm so excited she'll have her own story in March!

An enjoyable New Adult romance that I really enjoyed, Just a Little Crush was a lovely read. It was sweet, emotional, and I liked it. Brinley was a great heroine. I really liked that she was firm in what she wanted and didn't give in to what other people tried to make her. In general, she gave others a chance before judging. She was a lovely heroine and I liked her. Ryder was just adorable. He had a bad reputation, but he was really a sweetie. I loved how he was so determined to do what was best for Brinely, even if that meant staying away from her. He was great and I really liked him. The romance was very sweet. Brinley and Ryder had liked each other for a while but never got to act on their feelings. And they definitely had some heat between them. I thought they were great together. My one issue with the book was something that happened near the end. When Brinley found out about the game, she was understandably angry. What annoyed me, though, was that she didn't give him a chance to explain. Then, when she found out the full truth, she didn't bother to try to fix anything. She just moped around until Ryder made the first step. It was annoying and brought down the book a notch. The plot was fast paced and I was kept interested the entire way through. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was great. Just a Little Crush was a lovely New Adult romance that I really liked. Romance lovers, this is a book worth checking out. *I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review
