Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
This original paperback is more of a "how-to" book than a story. When Little Critter must come up with a science fair project, his mother takes him to the library to research topics. After a couple of failed attempts, he decides to do his project on caterpillars. His dad helps him with research on the computer, and they go to the store to get poster board and other supplies. His project is quite a success when the caterpillars turn into butterflies. Mayer includes quite a few humorous touches in the illustrations to keep the storyline light and interesting. A mouse accompanies Little Critter on each page and helps him with his project. A page of stickers is included. 2004, HarperFestival/HarperCollins, Ages 5 to 8.
