Just Another Day at the Office: I [NOOK Book]

Overview

I noticed him through a window during the job interview. The way my mind raced and my heart fluttered, it was obvious how much I wanted him. It was by sheer luck that I managed to land the job, because I certainly wasn’t in any condition to respond sensibly to the questions that came my way.

Overview

I noticed him through a window during the job interview. The way my mind raced and my heart fluttered, it was obvious how much I wanted him. It was by sheer luck that I managed to land the job, because I certainly wasn’t in any condition to respond sensibly to the questions that came my way.

But it’s not easy talking to someone, who seemingly wants to be nowhere near where they are. To someone who would rather disappear every lunch hour than spend it getting to know their new trainee.

John was exactly my type, even if that’s hard to believe. I don’t go for the stereotypical Calvin Klein underwear model type, you see. I may be petite, but I like my men with a bit - OK, a lot - of meat on them.

It may have been just another day at the office for the rest of our colleagues, but for me, it was the start of hopefully something amazing. A love story that could leave me broken, but preferably one that might make John and me into one of those smug, in love couples which everyone just hates to be around.

Note from the author: This is only part one of the story. I’ve classed it as Erotica even though Romance might be more fitting than anything. But take the Erotica label as an indicator of things to come in future parts.

About Just Another Day at the Office:
It's a feel-good Erotic Love Story about two flawed people attempting to come together in an imperfect world. You'll not find cliché, porn-style sex between two supermodels, but instead powerful attraction leading up to hot scenes between what could be real people.
All of us have issues; whether we're worried about not being likeable enough or not skinny enough, nobody is perfect. Why should fictional characters be any different?
BHM/FFA Romance.

Meet the Author

Hedonist (or simply “H.”) is an author of Erotica / Erotic Romance based in rainy England. Addicted to caffeine, chocolate and impure thoughts, she likes to write short stories and serial novels dealing with those aspects of the human condition that we all think about, yet often dare not discuss openly. No-one is perfect, neither are her characters, which make them all the more relatable and well-liked by her fans. Her ideal man isn’t a model with 6 pack abs and a fake Colgate smile, so you’ll not find a lot of those in her books. She likes real men, strong men with a soft side (soft all over?); a confident front and a hint of self doubt hidden inside that only comes out when you pull the walls down (or literally, the clothes off).

Hedonist Six is a brilliant writer. Her writing flows and she makes it look easy. Her prose is urgent and sparing and she uses it well to tell a great, character-driven story. Rapidly the reader wants to know more about the two central characters; the narrator and her newly found man, both very well realised. The author keeps her powder dry and reveals gradually. The tentative, hesitant movements between the two are brilliantly described with just the right potential for misunderstanding hovering nearby, ready to creep in and upset all. There's also an extremely creepy villain in the story who sits malevolently on the sidelines, threatening to spoil everything for both. As the reader grows to know the two protagonists you can't help but empathise with them and hope they overcome the barriers. The developing relationship burns slowly, steadily and... damnit, I can't say much more for fear of spoilers....

Highly recommended. Read and enjoy, I have the next two instalments on my kindle, ready for an indulgent read and I believe part four is in the pipeline. I can't wait.

I like the structure of this book. Ms Six, or maybe I should say Ms Sex, moves the pace along using flowing paragraphs for intimate scenes, resulting in a breathless romp, eagerly driving her reader forward in an uninterrupted stream, a waterfall of prose delivers a sense of urgency. Both John and Cathy have humanity, which is cleverly drawn; it's refreshing that there are no perfect creatures in this realistic story

    Decent Short Story

Decent Short Story but it ends before you get into their relationship, I guess you have to purchase the next book for that...
