I like the first person perspective. Would like to see more romantic involvement. Ann Maxwell aka Elizabeth Lowell puts mystery thriller and romance together very well. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I picked up a copy of Just Another Day in Paradise on the recommendation of an older neighbor who happened to read the series of books when they were originally published. Despite the fact the book was written over 20 years ago, making it a bit dated (the characters searching for pay phones and reading telexes), the story was just as enjoyable and engaging as any of today's romantic thrillers. Fiddler is a "piece of work" you can't help but love and admire for his ingenuity and devotion to come to the rescue of his beloved Fiona. It was also an interesting refresher course on the dawn of the computer age in Southern California, the agonizing plight of the dislocated Vietnamese following the Viet Nam war, and the world wide political atmosphere during the late '70's, early '80's. Cannot wait for The Frog and Scorpion to go on sale in June, and just hope the publishers will continue to publish the rest of the series in the near future. Was this review helpful?
