Just Between Us Girls: Secrets about Men from the Madam Who Knows

by Sydney Biddle Barrows, Judith Newman

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
The central thesis of Barrows's (Mayflower Madam, Morrow, 1986) latest book is that if a man is cheating on his wife, there is probably nothing wrong-except that his wife isn't acting enough like a hooker. Not to worry, Barrows offers a primer on the trade of tricks, including blow-by-blow descriptions of sexual maneuvers supposedly exclusive to professionals. The sections dealing with why men stray, how they do it, how to catch them, and how to make them stop are often humorous but are told with a know-it-all condescension that grates. Barrows meanders among a wide array of options for rekindling a marriage that has lost its spark, even offering her favorite brand of lubricant. Directed at the woman who believes she can save her marriage by greeting her husband while dressed in plastic wrap, this is not recommended on merit but may be popular.-Adam Mazmanian, "Library Journal"
