She was born as Eleanor Hodgman in Littleton, New Hampshire on December 19, 1868, the daughter of Francis Fletcher Hodgman and Llewella Woolson. I just loved this story. I learned a lot from the main character David. It was inspiring and beautiful. If you like lovely, fluffy stories, this is for you!

This is an inspiring story of a boy named Just David, lived on a mountain for years with his father who taught him the true gift of music. The music of a bubbling brook, the sound of ruffling trees, the sweet songs of the birds; these sounds Just David would play on the fiddle/violin. Every sound was a great "Orchestra of Life" and we only need to be still to hear. When his father dies in the barn of older couple, Just David makes not only a profound impression on their lives, but the entire mountain community. I loved this book, just wish it had several more about Just David's life. GREAT READ!

Just David has been a family favorite for decades. My mom read it out loud to us on a car trip some 30 years ago. A book enjoyed by people of all ages, who are willing to look at the world anew. Shawna CPM
