Like dreams sometimes do, they fell to the background for a while. She married her best friend, worked full time, and started her family. In 2004 Kelley, her husband and their new baby girl made a move from Oregon to Southern California and thats when everything changed. As a stay-at-home mom for the first time, her passion for writing flared to life again.

Things havent been the same since.

With two incredible daughters, an awesome husband and her days spent writing what she loves, Kelley considers herself the luckiest girl in the world. She still resides in sunny Southern California, where she loves spending time with her family and sneaking away to the bookstore with her laptop.

    Another great one!

And the Shamrock Falls love stories continue! I've loved the peaks of Betsy & Jace's friendship you got from the first 2 books. So glad we finally get to see their story.

When I was given the opportunity to read and write a review for

When I was given the opportunity to read and write a review for this book I just had to do it. I am a huge Nyrae Dawn fan - huge. I cannot seem to get enough of her books, and it has been that way since I first discovered What a Boy Wants over year ago.

So, knowing Nyrae Dawn is Kelley Vitollo, there was no way I could not read it. However, that was where the similarities ended.

Holy mother, it was like an entirely different writer. I've never seen an author be able to do that. If I didn't know I would have never, ever made that connection.

I loved Jace and Betsy. With a name like Betsy, how could I not? I stepped into this series without reading the previous two and it was no problem. I never felt out of the loop, because Kelley could catch me up to speed without actually distracting from the current story line, or spend too much time doing it.

Betsy works at Jace's law firm, and is basically his crutch. He acknowledges, quite often, how much he needs her with him. As somebody he relies on, it makes sense that he goes to her to help him with his new predicament. That issue comes in the form of being forced to marry and live with a lady for 6 months, otherwise he forfeits his childhood home and his grandfather's wife will gain possession.

Naturally, he asks Betsy. His sidekick, who he knows has a crush on him, but somebody he can rely on and confide in. She, of course, agrees.

Betsy has her own set of issues with her mother. Betsy pays for her mother's care and is falling behind on payments. When Jace approaches her with his ridiculous proposition, and in return offers to pay her a lot of money, she accepts. This girl will do pretty much anything for that mother of hers, even at the expense of her own sanity. Marrying and living with Jace, her crush, will really test her because she knows how much he can hurt her.

They do the deed, fake it for their friends, and learn a lot about each other in the process. Jace sees what has been right in front of him, and Betsy tries to not fall harder while dealing with major insecurities. Both struggle with commitment issues. It's an absolutely adorable read.

I didn't see Jace in the previous books, so I only know the kinder side of him. I was a little hesitant about him because he knew Betsy had feelings for him, and he still asked this of her. It seemed a little selfish and I was sad that he didn't immediately crush on her. However, Betsy had reason to do this, she was gaining as well. The marriage was mutually beneficial so I could not feel that bad for her. I was happy with the ending and how Jace completed their HEA. Betsy deserved that.

I'm looking forward to more of Shamrock Falls, both because I love the writing of Kelley Vitollo, and because I'm from Seattle. It's always fun to see your area in a book, even if she made us a little podunk.

Definitely give this book a chance. The story was solid, the characters well developed, and a good dose of humor. A very sweet, quick read.

Shamrock Falls is one of my new favourite places on earth. Over the series I have become completely captivated and invested in the lives of each of the residents and Just My Luck brings us another fabulous journey of love, friendship and family. I couldn't put it down.

Before I even started reading, Jace and Betsy were characters that I already had begun to love. They have skirted around each other in each of the two previous outings and their time has come. I thought we had been given an idea of their personalities and boy was I wrong; we hadn't even scratched the surface! Betsy may be on the shy side, but underneath she has a strong, quiet determination. It's no secret she has a soft spot for Jace and see's him as out of her league, but the successful lawyer with somewhat of a playboy reputation is misunderstood and I think he may well have stolen Breck's title as my favourite man, with his sweet-natured thoughtfulness and vulnerable side.

With moments that will make you smile, along with those that are truly heartwarming and pull on your heartstrings, this was a perfect sweet romantic read. I smiled, I swooned and my my heart ached for both of them. I sincerely hope that this isn't our last visit to Shamrock Falls and is certainly deserving of a 5 star rating.

Just My Luck by Kelley Vitollo is a satisfying but highly melodr

Just My Luck by Kelley Vitollo is a satisfying but highly melodramatic conclusion to the original Shamrock Falls group of friends. It does leave the door open for more books in this series though. Jace is a love-em-and-leave-em kind of guy, for obvious reasons once his backstory is revealed. His inheritance, unfortunately, is tied up in a foolish matchmaking will. Betsy, for her part, is also reluctant to get involved with anyone. Her backstory makes it plausible, even if the backstory itself is wildly implausible. Ultimately, while always expecting this pairing, the weight of their combined histories made this story the weakest of the three.

While happy that Betsy and Jace get their moment to shine in this series, it would have been better with more plausible stories. No matter what good intentions there might have been behind the will and its enforcement, it was not possible to accept it as the act of love that characters tried to make it out to be. For Betsy, the impediment to love was even more implausible. Given the situation, there is no way that her past was not littered with incidents (most likely involving first responders). These backstories weakened the overall plot significantly.

Nonetheless, the romance between Betsy and Jace was quite sweet and a little tart, which was perfect. His kindness and overall good-ness was displayed well, but without large neon signs. Betsy moving from crush into full-blown love was handled with a great deal of realism. Jace’s gradual realization of how he felt about Betsy was also done very well. If you can focus only on the romantic plot, the book is quite good.

Betsy Harris always knew that Jace Macnamara was a great boss and a close friend but felt like she would never know what he would be like as a boyfriend or husband. Well that all changes when Jace is forced to ask his her to be his wife so that he can keep the only home that he has ever known. Jace always knew that Betsy had a crush on him but he never expected to see her as anything more but that all changes when their true feelings start show as they continue their "fake" marriage. Jace and Betsy soon find out that there is more to a person than what meets the eye as they continue to get to know each other better.

This book is filled with laughs, tears and even a little heartbreak at times. I think it was a great read and a very quick read. I would say the reason I gave it four stars instead of five would be that the story has been done before in the aspect of two friends start out in a fake relationship/marriage and fall in love. Again it was a great read and I would like to read the other two books in this series to learn more about the other two couples love stories.

If you are looking for an easy read and a book to make you laugh and smile than this is the right book for you.

booksbysteph says "Nothing You Haven't Read Before"

The plot of this story is nothing we have not seen before - pretend to be with me so I can get something in the end, but in the meantime, I fall in love. It is a cute and fun book; very easy and fast to read. I even shed a tear.

The reason I took a star away is because of Jace. Jace is a lawyer. He is smarter then he is portrayed and I do not like that. A lawyer is not afraid to ask questions, to get answers, to find answers. I really dislike when a smart man is played down so the story can continue.

Until next time, live life one page at a time!

    Nice!

Another story about a "marriage of convenience" but it was still a good read and enough ups and downs to keep you interested in the story.. I think I liked the first two books in the Shamrock Falls series better but I enjoyed this one very much... It's a nice finish to the three gals that are best friends in a small town...

4.5 Star Review In Just My Luck by Kelley Vitollo, Betsy Harris

    4.5 Star Review

In Just My Luck by Kelley Vitollo, Betsy Harris has been half in love with her boss and friend Jace Macnamara for as long as she has known him. But because he is her close friend and her boss he is off-limits and forbidden. Not only that, her shy nature and the way that her mother raised her would not even let her admit her attraction to him or any other male for that matter.

Jace has always knows that the family home, which belonged to his late mother, would be his when his grandfather died. To his utter surprise he learns that his grandfather has required in his will for him to marry within a month and remain married for six full months in order for him to get his own home. If not his home goes to his grandfather’s wife.

Now Jace knows that he must find a wife, but one that he can trust and will not drive him insane within the six-months period. Unfortunately not many fit that bill, until he learns that Betsy is having problems with money and she won’t ask for his help. He trusts her and can spend a lot of time with her without going crazy. And from there the crazy idea is born, to ask her to marry him, with the condition that it is only temporary and she will receive a good compensation for her help.

They may be giving everyone a fake story about their relationship. But things will not be easy to keep fake though, because all of a sudden Jace starts seeing the beauty that Betsy has been hiding behind all her drab clothes and he wants to make his marriage very real in every sense during those six months. While Betsy’s insecurities will not be easily overcome, she will not take for granted the chance at living the life she has dreamed about for so long.

But secrets cannot stay hidden for long, and Betsy’s secret about her mother will come to light sooner than she wants. Leading to a fight and the possible ending of her marriage. Jace will have a lot of work to do to prove to Betsy that she was not just another woman in his bed, but the last and only woman he wants to be there for the rest of his life.

Wow, I absolutely loved this story. I have been waiting since Lucky break to see how shy Betsy would get her man, playboy Jace. The back story of how Betsy was raised is emotionally deep, and the fact that she still grew up to be as confident as she did proves how much inner strength she has. And Jace, wow, his story also explains why he won’t commit to any woman. Of course only the woman that could reach inside him, emotionally and mentally, could make him open up to her and would be the one to win his heart and love.

If you haven’t read Shamrock Falls series, don’t forget to get the other two so you can understand a little more of the previous character who also make an appearance here. But make sure that you definitely don’t miss this one for it will take you on an emotional ride.

Friends to lovers, marriage of convenience, super sweet contempo

Friends to lovers, marriage of convenience, super sweet contemporary.  Betsy is a shy, sweet young woman who has a crush on her boss, Jace Macnamara.  When he needs to get married to inherit his childhood home he makes a deal with Betsy.  Can they make it through the six months he needs to be married and still remain friends and work together after it’s over?
This has been done before but it is always fun to see a new spin on it.  Betsy is incredibly sweet but not a push-over.  Both Betsy and Jace have some major commitment issues and half the fun is watching them deal with it.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

    Rating 4.5Stars

Now moving on to something sweet and innocent. The latest book from Kelley Vitollo which happens to be Just My Luck. Yes, this is the latest news from Shamrock Falls.

If you have been keeping up with the gossip (or at least reading the previous stories) you would know that Betsy Harris has been nursing a serious crush on Jace Macnarama. She's totally hopeless. We all know it's never a good idea to fall for the player of the town, but alas the heart doesn't listen.

However, this player has a problem. Yep, he needs to find a wife, or forfeit his home to his grandfather's wife. Oh no! Now where is he going to find a women who will keep house with him for at least six months. Nothing like going to the old reliable friend. Betsy is the best bet to get his childhood home.

All right, I was little worry how this story was going to workout. Granted I do love a story with a marriage of convince. However, I did fret how Jace and Betsy relationship would change. Yet, somehow it magically worked out. I must say I found some surprising facts about these two. For instance, shy quiet Betsy is a closet sports fanatic. Yep, you would never guess that. And Jace is, well, I guess there isn't really anything secret about him. He's a pretty straightforward guy.

I really did like this story and how the dynamics of their relationship change. I did love the fact his grandfather was looking out for Jace, even though he didn't understand why Wallace did what he did. As I said, I wasn't sure how this would have worked out after all he's a player and she's a shy gal who has a serious crush on him. You would think it would spell disaster. So, if you are looking for a sweet romance with friends who came to each others aid, I would suggest checking out Just My Luck. It leave you with that warm-fuzzy feeling.

Just My Luck is a little predictable, but I think this is my favorite out of Shamrock Fall series!

Betsy pays for her mother care and falling behind on payments! When Jace talks to her with a ridiculous proposition and in return offers her money, she just couldn't refused it! I like Betsy, she's your typical shy, insecure heroine but throughout the story she became confident and came out of her shell.

Jace on the other hand is one sexy man! He makes me want to rawr! lol. I've been waiting for his story and was not disappointed! He's confident but a little unsure when it comes to Betsy. I just love this guy!!!

The story is well written and easy read. Heartwarming, sweet romantic story that would make you feel giddy inside! There were not much drama going on but you would enjoy the character development of the two. It was fun to read Jace POV specially when he realized he fell in love with Betsy. :)

This can read as a standalone, but I highly recommend to read the whole series!

Overall, this is a must read if your a fan of Shamrock Falls series!
