Overview

What happens when a twenty-first century business executive is expected to fulfill a prophecy given at the birth of a sixteenth-century seer? Of course, he must raise his sword in her defense.

From 2013 Golden Heart® paranormal finalist Dawn Marie Hamilton comes the second novel in the Highland Gardens series, ‘Just Once in a Verra Blue Moon’, a sexy Scottish historical time travel romance with Highlanders, scheming faeries, a mischievous brownie, magic, adventure, and romance set in 16th century Scotland.

Believing women only want him for his wealth, Finn MacIntyre doesn't trust any woman to love him. When, during Scottish Highland games, faerie magic sends him back in time to avenge the brutal abduction of his time-traveling cousin, he learns he's the subject of a fae prophecy.

Elspeth MacLachlan, the beloved clan seer, is betrothed to a man she dislikes and dreams of the man prophesized at her birth, only to find him in the most unexpected place—facedown in the mud.

With the help of fae allies, they must overcome the treachery set to destroy them to claim a love that transcends time.

Journey from the lush gardens of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina to the Scottish Highlands of 1511 with 'Just Once in a Verra Blue Moon'.

‘Just Beyond the Garden Gate’, the first novel in the Highland Gardens time travel romance series, is also available for your Nook.

believable and history rich Ms. Hamilton continues to raise the bar in her latest, book 2 of the Highland Gardens time travel highland romance series, that is believable and history rich. It is filled with intrigue, finding love, and commitment to family. Finn is a high-powered modern rich man who longs for true love and a family like his cousin Laurie. He character is developed in such a matter that one has empathy and understanding that money and hotness doesn’t always bring you happiness but more often loneliness and uncertainty as to who are your true friends and what true love is. Wow I love Elspeth, she is a strong woman but due to the era she was born and family duty puts love before family. Her character is truly thought provoking and though you want to scream “don’t take that from your fiancé” we truly understand what the men’s beliefs about women were back then compared to today. From my viewpoint there weren’t any strong secondary characters but Caitrina and Douglas seemed to deserve a story. So for now I am waiting impatiently for book 3 of this series Just Wait For Me, A Highland Gardens Novel.  To see the full review visit my blog: sportochicksmusings.blogspot .com

What a fantastic story!  A little time-travel, villains in both eras, and mischievous faery characters provide hours of pure entertainment.   Verra Blue takes off where Just Beyond the Garden Gate ended, but I don't think it's necessary to have read that one before you enjoy this clever tale.  That said, once you read one you'll want to read the other.  There are a couple of 'loose ends' to make me hope that there's another book in the making. The author provided me a copy of this book in exchange for a review, and I consider myself a lucky reader.
