Overview

Sometimes an artist's work will be stylistically remade and it turns out well. Radiohead and Tori Amos have both had successful classical interpretations, and even some in the Pickin' On series, while not exactly masterpieces, utilize talented enough musicians that there's at least some redeeming quality to them. Such is not the case with Justin Timberlake Smooth Jazz Tribute. Pulling from both Timberlake's solo records (four cuts from Justified and six from FutureSex/LoveSounds), the record not so much rethinks the music as replays it on cheap synthesizers and replaces JT's voice with a cheesy sounding "saxophone." Clearly little time, effort, or skill was put into it, and the results are unsurprisingly horrible. However, they do make it pretty easy to pass this album up.
