Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
Kravets, a high school college consultant, and Wax, a certified counselor in private practice, offer this selective listing of over 150 colleges and universities which have learning disabilities (LD) services. They include schools that fit into three designated support categories: structural programs (comprehensive), coordinated services (not as comprehensive), and services (least comprehensive). They exclude colleges with only minimal services and those that do not provide room and board. The guide is arranged by state, and cross-referenced by school name. A two-page profile of each institution succinctly describes the LD program, admissions information, and services. A handy feature is a quick reference list that provides contact information for all schools profiled. This reference is more selective and up to date than Charles T. Straugh and Marvelle S. Colby's Lovejoy's College Guide for the Learning Disabled (S. & S., 1988. 2d ed.), and the information is organized and presented in a more explicit manner. Recommended.-- Barbara S. Meagher, Central Connecticut State Univ., New Britain
