Missyb0103 NIGHT OWL REVIEWS
"This is a fast paced read that had me hooked from the beginning. Ms. Grosso grabs your attention and doesn't let go. The female lead who is a cop, who knows how to handle herself and doesn't take crap from anyone. The male lead is vampire candy! And the perfect fit for the edgy cop she is! They work together well, and the chemistry is hot! Sex scenes are steamy and well written. If you're looking for a great new series I hope you will consider Kade's Dark Embrace, you will not be disappointed!"

"It was a fun supernatural romance and the paranormal/ voodoo elements were great. The hunky vampire character really appealed to me, as did Sydney and her foul mouth tirades. I am looking forward to reading more from this author and can't wait for another installment in the series."
Don MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW
"This paranormal romance is quite good. It has a little bit of everything. Vampires, of course. And werewolves, magicians, and witches. The plot and characters are well developed, and the pace is relatively fast, which is appropriate for a thriller. Highly recommended."
Iris PARANORMAL CRAVINGS

Philly's one and only hard headed, determined, and brave Sydney

Philly's one and only hard headed, determined, and brave Sydney Willows is about to get an abrupt change in her life plans.  The death of a couple women, who are made to almost look like dolls smell of a paranormal crime.   She is thrown into working with P-CAP who handle the paranormal and along comes Kade Issacson...handsome and well packaged vampire.  He knows this woman is his and will do everything to show her that is the case.  The murders take them to New Orleans where Kade lives and the mix of Vampires and Magic appear and threaten his time with Sydney.   Loved the storyline and excited to read on about Luca, Kade's trusted right hand.

I have mixed feeings on this book. The storyline, as a whole is pretty good, but I found the individual personalities of the characters rather annoying and at times even a bit ridiculous. Sydney and Kade are both control freaks, so I guess they are really made for each other. Sydney is so stubborn an unwilling to use any rational thought that everytime she walks out the door, she nearly gets herself killed. Then you have Kade who is even more of a control freak and way too possessive. I didn't like how he repeatedly told Sydney that she WOULD be his and only his, like a possession. Even if she didn't end up falling in love with him in less than a week, his immediate possessiveness was just a little too creepy for me. To me, it bordered on stalking. Everytime Sydney would try to put distance between her and Kade, he showed up. When he put her on the plane to New Orleans, I was screaming at the book. It felt like he "willed" their relationship into frution with his insistence that they would be together. If you like that sort of thing, then this book is for you. I just didn't care for the possessive and controlling feel of the book.

    Kade's Dark Embrace

My main issue with the book was Sydney. She is a horrid main character. She's a brat, stubborn, rude, impulsive, hypocritical, among other things. The only reason why I finished reading was because of Kade. He was a great male protagonist; strong, intelligent, and damn patient when it came to Sydney and her bad attitude.
The beginning of the book was rushed and poorly written. All Sydney could think about was getting laid, even though the case meant so much to her, she really didn't do anything to solve it. She apparently hates supernatural cases yet refused to back down when this case turned into one and kept complaining about it.
This book was frustrating to read.

    Unsure

I feel like the two main characters have the same argument over and over.. and over... and over. She wants to work the murder case. He fears for her saftey and forbids it. She tells him to @#$ off while becoming annoyed that shes still attracted to him. Over and over.. and over. It was also rather unbelievable that EVERY male character in the book was lusting after or in love with her.. because shes just SO sexy. I really wanted to like this, but it annoyed me so much that I never got sucked into the story

    What a delightful read.
This is a great book that contains a little bit of everything that a reader could ever want. It has mystery, murder, mayhem, sexy vampires, loyal werewolves, and sex.
I really enjoyed the romantic fantasy. It was a real page turner. I must admit, my family had to do without while I couldn't put the book down! Simply loved it.

Kade’s Dark Embrace by Kym Grosso left me speechless more than once. I loved, loved, loved this book. If for no other reason than because I found out you can love and hate the heroine of the story with varying degrees of passion. I can honestly say that this is the first one I wanted to throat punch some sense into. Her attitude of  “I am a detective, I don’t need anybody” really got to me. However, without that attitude, I do not think I would have enjoyed the book so much. Twisted huh? I also like the way she wasn’t immediately falling at Kade’s feet even though she felt attracted to him. There struggle to work together was what actually drew them closer, that and Kade’s hotness. I am on the journey now to read more books in this series. I am definitely hooked. Toward the end of the book I was on pins and needles on what was going to happen and I love it when a book can hold my attention like that. I will take a book hangover like this anytime and come back for more. I give this book 5 stars*****.

    Good story but-----

My biggest pet peve is when the writer tries to make the female lead into a strong independant worrior woman and she comes off as a b*tch• "i will not allow any man tell me what to do"• mean while she does things "her way" and gets herself in a dangerous situation that could have been avoided if she would have listened and not been stupid* augh!!!!

Very well written novel. My only problem was the female lead was 'too stupid to live' variety.

    okay

Okay I get it. She is a tough cop but she is not a smart one. I mean she keeps going on and on about how she can take care of herself even against supernaturals. It really got on my nerves. Indepenence is one thing but she was annoying. Its is just stupid to believe a regular human even a highly armed one can best vampires witchcraft and other magical beings when she admits to not knowing much about them. I would not have finished the book if I had another one available. The second half was not as bad as the first.

This book is written by Kym Grosso, and I have to say it’s a great book. I will admit that at first it took me a bit to get into it, but once you really know what’s going on, or began to like either Kade or Sydney(or both) it was easy to grow attached to the characters. For this reason I’ll give the book 4 stars. I absolutely loved Sydney; she is basically a badass woman. Kade is cocky, but likeable, and both characters fight their attraction for what seems like forever, but realize they can’t fight being mates. It’s of course a paranormal romance (obviously one of my favorite genres) and not only do Kade and Sydney burrow their way into my heart with their story, but secondary characters Luca (book 2) and Tristan (book 3). Thank goodness they each have their own stories, because honestly between those two I can’t choose my favorite.
Not only are the character’s likeable, but the storyline is great. I love how Kym makes each species more known. They aren’t as hidden in the shadows, and having a Paranormal Unit (police/law wise) brings a twist to the book that one cannot ignore. If Vampires/wolves, ect… existed would this be believable?  Well even if you don’t think so Kym spins it to where you think so! She did a great job, and I loved the spicy love scenes (for mature audience only). But I also like that even though in the paranormal genre even though intimacy and love scenes are a big thing, they didn’t over take the story. I found it balanced nicely.
So if you want a hot paranormal romance pick up Kade’s Embrace today… The other two while you’re at it. I recommend it to anyone who wants, action, drama, romance, and even a little mystery (she doesn’t totally let you know who the big bad are at first).

Although the writing seemed a bit stilted at times I enjoyed the characters and plotline. Feisty female lead struggles with vampire lovers claiming, secondary characters very engaging.
