One of England's most notable writers for children, Eleanor Farjeon received many honours during her long and distinguished career, including the Hans Christian Andersen Award and the Carnegie Medal.



Famous as a war artist and a member of the Royal Academy, Edward Ardizzone is widely considered the foremost illustrator of his generation. He illustrated more than 170 books, and was awarded the Kate Greenaway Medal in 1956 and the CBE in 1971.
