During the reign of the Roman emperor Diocletian, Kamma, a priestess of Diana, falls in love with Casticos, a barbarian warrior. When he falls in battle, she bargains with Erictho, a witch, to bring him back to life and cast a spell on him to fall in love with her. After his return to the land of the living, Kamma obtains a post in the Roman army for him. He distinguishes himself so well that he is promoted to the Praetorian Guards. There he meet and falls in love with Eudocia, the Christian daughter of a Bishop. Their love is bound for tragedy. He is married to jealous witch who will do anything to keep him for herself, and Diocletion has declared an edict of persecution. Is there no way for Casticos to save her? And what revenge will Kamma seek?
