Kangaroos' Great Escape

Kangaroos' Great Escape

by Rebecca Johnson

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
There is danger, and the kangaroos need to escape from it. They quickly realize the only way to escape the fire is to reach the rocks. Fortunately for the kangaroos, the rock wallaby sees their plight and finds a way for them to escape without having to climb to the top of the rocks. This book is great for early readers because of the large font, simple words, and easy-to-follow story. The book has beautiful pictures of several types of kangaroos. One picture that is especially interesting is a little wallaby in mid-flight, jumping from the rocks. The "Animal Storybooks" series is created with striking photographs and a true-to-life story line. These books highlight the animals from Australia. Children's enjoyment and understanding of wildlife will increase after reading this series. Children who enjoy kangaroos will especially love this book. This series could augment a school, home, or classroom library. 2006, Gareth Stevens Publishing, Ages 4 to 8.
