When it comes to studying, this book was the easier of the two that I bought to understand in terms of material break-down. Overall, I ignored the verbal prep because I needed more help with the quantitative; and this book had a straightforward and fairly thorough presentation of common math equations accompanied by extensive practice problems to see me through that section. The most invaluable thing about the Kaplan book, however, was the access to the free online testing. There were not only 10 sections each of verbal, quantitative, and writing practice online, but also 4 complete practice tests, not counting the one in the back of the book. Overall, I felt better prepared for the test after having studied with the Kaplan book.
