Meet the Author

Joanne has always loved books, especially how the stories and images can create a whole new world. As a teenager, she would often draw her favorite images from fantasy books and posters.

In 1986, Joanne enrolled in the Visual Arts Program at the University of Ottawa. During the program, she realized that while she loved art, it was more of a hobby not something she wanted to do as a career. While looking at the other programs that were being offered at Ottawa U, she found that the courses related to personal and organizational communications seemed interesting. To her surprise, adding this concentration opened up a whole new avenue, one that continues to evolve even today–especially with all the new technology. Needless to say, Joanne’s been curious and interested in communications ever since.

In recent years, Joanne’s writing has been moving from business to pleasure. She has now found her true passion–writing imaginative and positive fantasy books for kids, and for those who are still young at heart. Her personal motto is “Dare to imagine and believe in the magic of possibilities!”
