    Absolutely Wonderful

This was the first real long manga series I read. I adored the whole thing. It is definitely one of the best shoujo mangas ever. If you don't know, a shoujo manga is a romance story for girls. Karin is a character that anyone can relate to since she has awkward and uncertain moments that we all go through. The whole series is about her first love with a boy named Kiriya whom is interesting from the very beginning. It tells of how Karin has a very bad friend who just uses her and how Karin still tries to please her. Anyone can relate to this since we all know people who just use others. However, Karin starts to get noticed by another girl at her school who may be her way out of the relationship with her cruel friend. At the same time she is dealing with Kiriya who is attractive and has a very likable personality and she can't help being attracted to him even though she doesn't want to be. Especially since her mean friend likes him too. Karin and Kiriya keep meeting each other and Karin slowly falls in love with him, as does Kiriya with her. Karin faces many obstacles and uncertainties as she tries to understand her own feelings for Kiriya and tries to become cuter so that she can be worthy of Kiriya's attention. The series keeps you reading with interest the whole time as you keep up your hopes for the two to have happy lives together. I would definitely recommend this series to all of my friends. It makes you fall in love with it right away and you don't want to stop reading it. I still reread it to this day.

Eh... Just your average shoujo manga...

The characters are cute (of course they are, it's a shoujo manga!), but the rest of it is just... ehn. The plot is about the same as MARS's plot, and I, personally, find it hard to sympathsize with Karin. That could just be me.
