All Music Guide - Jim Brenholts
Karuna is one of the strongest efforts in Nawang Khechog's discography. It is also the Sanskrit word for compassion, a concept at the very heart of all Tibetan culture. In his time as a monk, Khechog learned how to convey his spirituality in his music. He spent four years as a hermit, and music was his only audible prayer. This deep soulful music is best when experienced alone, in contemplation or meditation. It will appeal to fans of Gregorian and Tibetan chants, Riley Lee, Klaus Wiese, and Karma Moffett.

    Blew the House Down!

I saw Nawang perform live last July in Fort Collins, Colorado. Went to see Carlos Nakai, but felt that Nawang stole the show, even though Peter Kater and Carlos Nakai were both very good. It was Nawang that made the show the best I had ever heard or seen. He plays from his heart and his soul. Would recommend anyone to see him in concert and to purchase any of his CD's.
