I never read books twice. Never. I read this book when it first came out and I loved it. I gave it away to a friend, and just recently bought it for my Nook, so I could read it again. Excellent!!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading these books and loved that the grandmother's story was continued by granddaughter in The House at Riverton. The Forgotten Garden will be discussed in my Book Club soon and it will interesting to find out how others feel. I have purchased Ms Morton's "The Distant Hours", this appears to be a different type of story - we will see!

I love the way Kate Morton presents her books. You will not want them to end.

Would look forward to reading her other books because this book kept me wanting to read more and more just to discover the answers to the mysteries that each chapter unfolded. The end is always a surprise. These books make great discussions.

The characters are well developed and engaging. The storyline made it hard to put the book down. I originally purchased this title for "The Forgotten Garden", my bookclub assignment in June and was so enthralled that I finished the book in 4 evenings. Hungry for more of Ms. Morton's engaging style I read "The House At Riverton" and "The Distant Hours"; which proved to be just as well written. My only complaint is that her next novel doesn't release until this fall.

I very much enjoyer The House at Riverton. It had a lot of interesting twists as we follow the family through the years. I love this era. I'm looking forward to reading The Forgotten Garden. Kate Morton has a way of writing that is comforting like an old friend.

This is the first book I have read in a very long time that was unique in it's reading and extremely intriguing. Both books are excellent and highly recommended.

I loved these two books and I love Kate Morton's literary style. Many lines I read and reread, just because they were so artfully crafted. I enjoy period pieces / historical fiction. Ms. Morton weaves a lovely fabric between the past and present of her characters. Anne
