Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
PreS-K-A well-meaning nature lesson that falls flat. On the opening page, Katie meets Ferguson, a big, blue rabbit who takes her by the hand and introduces her to his many friends living in the long grass and blackberry bushes at the bottom of her family's garden. Because these animals have been eating the vegetables, Katie's father decides to cut the grass and clear out the bushes. The child then comes up with a plan to save both the garden and the creatures' homes-a fence. The characters are lifeless and the ending is predictable. The watercolor paintings, done with sponge-and-line applications, are charming, but cannot rescue this mediocre book.-Karen K. Radtke, Milwaukee Public Library
