Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Jillian Kobelin
Katy Duck is thrilled to be chosen as a flower girl for Aunt Ella's wedding! However, she is a bit confused about what a flower girl actually is. In Katy's mind, she is going to look and act like a flower at the wedding. She practices swaying in the wind like a daffodil and stretching in the sun like a tulip. When the wedding day arrives, Katy feels ready for her role as a flower girl, until Mrs. Duck and Aunt Ella tell her she is supposed to toss flower petals as her flower girl duty. Katy decides to make her role duel-purpose, by tossing petals and dancing like a flower down the aisle! This "Ready-to-Read" book is characterized as level one based on its easy sight words and words to sound out, simple plot and dialogue, and familiar topics and themes. The accompanying illustrations make this book a great choice for new readers, and an especially sweet treat for a flower-girl-to-be! Reviewer: Jillian Kobelin
