About the Author

Saw LahKBaw is a descendant of Maw-Nay-Bwar, a Karen tribe in Northern Kawthoolei. Growing up in the Hsaw-Hteet-TawOo region—where two cultures intersected and the two armies frequently clashed—he witnessed both struggle and resilience on the frontline of the Karen Revolution, the world’s longest-running civil war. His journey led him to Indiana University, where he studied Computer Science and International Studies. He later joined a global consulting firm before moving into higher education in California as a software programmer. Beyond technology, his passion lies in exploring political economy, philosophy, international systems, and national identity. He is a devoted husband and father of three.
