In book number 4 of the Kaya series titled "1764 Kaya and Lone Dog: A Friendship Story" in the section named "Looking Back 1764: A Peek Into the Past" there is information young readers could use for a social studies report. This tale is rich with the culture and beliefs of the Nez Perce Native Americans. In this novel readers are exposed to the special bond between people and animals. Young readers are introduced to Lone Dog, a special dog who Kaya befriends. "Kaya and Lone Dog" is another great tale in the Kaya series for American Girl. Like the other books in this series the color illustrations are beautiful and the storyline draws the readers into the world of Kaya and her family and tribe. Was this review helpful?
