Overview

Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen OBrien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Laylas surprise, he doesnt freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that both bind them together and tear them apart.

Scarred by loss, Layla leaves her hometown of Hope Springs, Georgia, hoping to put her painful past behind her and start over in college in California. When she runs into Landen at freshmen orientation, she has a choice to make. Reinforce those steel walls she's built up around herself or give the only boy who can keep her still a second chance.

Landens more than ready to tear down those walls but this time when they come crashing down, they might bury her.

Star Rating: 4 stars Heat Rating: Sizzling/HOT Caisey Quinn is a writer that can really tap into those younger characters and make the reader remember all the passion, drama and feelings that you go through when you are experiencing love for the first time.  Reading Keep Me Still, I was sent back in time remembering my first love and was able to connect to Layla and Landen on a more personal level.  I was captured by the first few pages of this story and hours went by as I was lost in this wonderful story of love that break or won't give up (it might bend a little). This version of Keep Me Still has the novella Let You Leave already in the book (it is a prequel), which is the best way to start the story.  Let You Leave introduces us to Layla and Landen, we get to know them as people, then as a pair before Keep Me Still begins.  Getting the background on these two characters is super important, it really enhances the story of Keep Me Still.  Then once you are done with Keep Me Still, you get to go right into the next novella, Hold Us Close (which is a lovely follow up/epilogue type sequel). I love Caisey Quinn's writing style.  Her stories flow naturally and turns regular words into beautiful heart-tugging stories that take you on an emotional journey that you can get lost in for hours.  The pacing was a bit fast in Keep Me Still, but it worked overall for the complete book, which encompasses all three stories: Let You Leave, Keep Me Still and Hold Us Close. (So I definitely recommend you make sure your copy of Keep Me Still includes the novellas, they really enrich Layla and Landen's story) Caisey Quinn won me over in Girl with Guitar with her storyline and original characters, and Layla and Landen in Keep Me Still stole my heart.  I love that you don't get cookie cutter characters, you get characters that are real, a little banged up and unique.    Layla and Landen were adorable.  I fell in love with them right away and was really put through the wringer with these two! My poor heart broke for them, I rooted for them and I found myself thinking about this book hours after I finished reading it and breaking out into a smile. Keep Me Still is just another example of why I love Caisey Quinn!  If you have read her Kylie Ryans series (Girl with Guitar) then you will love Layla and Landen!  And if for some reason you haven't read Caisey Quinn  (go and 1-click any and all of her books), you are in for a treat, she is one of my favorite author "finds" this year!

My Review: Well I really enjoyed this book. The author did a good job on this book.It had everything I liked in a book.I can understand how Layla feels about her seizures begin a embarrassment.I myself I have epilepsy. It sucks lol.Im one of the lucky ones I don't have mine constantly.Mine come on when they want.I have went years.I do take take meds.they control them so far?Anyways that being said I know where's Layla's coming from. This story really ment a lot I don't see or have read many books addressing epilepsy or (IED) Intermittent explosive disorder. Both are scary. Landen is your average sexy guy but he has demons from his childhood which Layla helps him thought. He also helps her through her demons. All in all I liked this book.I loved the ending & Landens letter.I had some tears.Love it when u get a good author who makes you such of a emotion,That's a true author in my book.So I give this book 5*****

Landen O'Brien makes your heart race, your thighs clench, and your ovaries scream "I volunteer!", Caisey Quinn's second novel, Keep Me Still, will have you laughing, crying, and eating copious amounts of ice cream. the novel explores young love, heartbreak, reunited love, and love that is threatened by illness. After seeing her parent shot to death in front of her Layla now has seizures brought on by PTSD and is known in high school as Freaky Flaherty. (High schoolers can be douchebags!) After homeschooling because of the events that led up to the cruel nickname. Layla decides to go back to school her senior year. No one notices her anyways... Until Landen moves there. Landen is a military brat, moved before he can even make steady friends in one place. He wasn't expecting this move to be any different, until he sees Layla in the hallway. He has to know who she is. But Landen is damaged too. Layla and Landen have a history. One that you must read the novella, Let You Leave to get. Their history is heartbreaking. They found each other in high school when they both needed someone. But then they were torn apart by Landen moving back to Colorado. Oh dear Lord how Layla did not jump on Landen is a freakin mystery to me because he's hot, seriously like steamy, sexy hot. Tall, dark hair, green eyes, built, But the cherry on the top is that he loves Layla from the start and is patient with her and waits until she's ready for everything. I loved all the characters in the story including the side characters, Corin & Skyler. Whom I hope get their own book because through KMS you know their story is playing out as well. Can't wait for Hold Us Close, which continues with Landen & Layla's story. Which usually means this first book is left on a cliffhanger but its not. The story ends like a television series would end it's season. I absolutely loved this book. OMG, OMG, OMG!!!
