This is a remade adventure for the Dungeons and Dragons game. This was the first adventure I ever ran as a DM. Overall, it was good. Pretty well organized, with plenty of information to run it seamlessly, but still with room for the DM to modify and add his or her own touch. After leaving the town, the book got a bit confusing, because there were multiple places the players could go, but with a few tabs and markers, it isn't a problem, and they did they best they could. Overall it is a good, easy beginning adventure. I highly recommend it to new players and / or DMs

Keep on the Shadowfell is a great return to the original flavor of D&D before everything was all mapped out and clearly defined by numerous authors. Having played since 1981, KotS took me back to those first days when I was still learning how to properly throw a d4, and an adventuring party genuinely didn't know what may lie beyod that next turn. The streamlined mechanics allowed us to jump right in and get to the meat of the story, which allows ample opportunity for every class to spread their wings and fly. As the introductory adventure, the pregenerated PCs in the back are all set up and ready to go right out of the box. Just name them and start rolling. For the DM, there is plenty of helpful text throughout the module to put you on the right path for your intense but rewarding task. If you're undecided about buying the 4e Core Set, start with Keep on the Shadowfell. It will give you enough flavor to help you make up your mind.
