Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Anita Barnes Lowen
It a busy time in Camden Falls. There is the dog costume parade (arranged by Nikki to raise money for the animal shelter) and trick or treating on Halloween (which sends Ruby into a frenzy over choosing the perfect costume and has Flora and her friends feeling that maybe they are too old to go house to house now that they are in seventh grade). Olivia has a boyfriend and he has asked her to the Halloween Dance; Flora wonders why she does not have a boyfriend yet and whether she really wants one. And a new family has moved into the neighborhood. It has been a long time since there has been a new family in the Row Houses and Flora is excited to discover that the new girl, Willow Hamilton, is a seventh grader too. But it does not seem like Willow really wants to be friends. And there is something odd about Willow's mother. "Whoa," says Ruby when the Hamiltons disappear. "That is the weirdest mom in the universe." This seventh title in the "Main Street" series gives readers a glimpse into small town life and a peek behind closed doors where secrets are hidden. Lingering mysteries (why does Aunt Allie have a closet full of baby clothes) will leave fans eager to find out what happens next. Reviewer: Anita Barnes Lowen
