Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Enid Portnoy
This title in the “Rainbow Magic: Special Edition” series describes the collaborative efforts of the well-known “Rainbow Fairy” characters and two young best friends. This time, the group is involved in a movie production. This collection of adventures involves young actors, crewmembers, and directors on a movie stage in production. Keira, the Movie Star Fairy, wants Rachel and Kirsty’s help to make sure everything goes smoothly on the set. The girls are asked to look out for goblins that always seem to appear in the “Rainbow Magic” stories. Black and white drawings are sprinkled liberally throughout the pages. The girls meet a queen and talented young performers who have to deal with both a temperamental director and goblin mischief. Several mean-spirited characters have their own ideas about making a movie, and there is enough conflict in each chapter to keep readers guessing. The conclusion of the book also offers a preview of the next book in the series, Autumn the Falling Leaves Fairy. The books in this series provide fun for fans. Reviewer: Enid Portnoy; Ages 7 to 9.
