Meet the Author

I lived in Japan about 12 years ago for about 7 years but now I'm back in Oz with a family and a job. I study law part-time and earn a crust teaching ESL. Writing is a hobby and way of coming to terms with my time in Japan and the transition back to life in Australia. I am pretty much done writing about Japan although modern developments such as the nuclear issue may trigger some more writing down the track. In the near future, I hope to publish a new novel I am working on as it nears completion. It's a novel about a band and that's all I want to say at this stage.

    Stay Away!

This is by far the worst book (if you can call it that) that I have ever read. It was twenty for pages (if that). If that wasn't enough the main character whom you think might be interesting we see only his inner monologue for the most part and I have to wonder if the author had something against the Japanese. I have been to Japan and can assure anyone who hasn't the Japanese are hospitable and kind to foreigners. This book also lacks plot of any kind and i felt myself dreading each turn of the page. My last complaint about this is the us of dialogue there was no real dialogue and when it did put something in quotes the author did nothing to show that it was someone talking. For the most part dialogue consisted of something like she told me to wait. The only time he did use quotes was when they were speaking Japanese and I'm sure that the Japanese was right but it detracted from it by putting the meaning of the words in parenthesis either do not have him understand and put the meanings at the end or have the words in italics to show us it was another language but the narrator understands it.
All in all it was a horrible read and the site is lucky it was free or i would be in a horrible state. So I'm writing to warn you all just don't read this!

    Boring

The writer was no doubt an amatuer, the plot is very much unoringinal, the characterazation (however you spell that) was incomplete, and boring. This book contains many racism towards the Japanese, which I found completely boring. I mean if you were to insult someone at least make it more interesting than this crap. I was honest to god about to stab myself at page seven, yes, that's how bad it was. The author was also trying to hard so the words didn't flow right and has no rythm. I couldn't quite see plots in this story either. And one last thing, I am sure there are many different types of people out there, but I wouldn't say the mass majority of Japan's population is like how the book describe them to be.
