Zacke Kensington's chosen profession as a cop allowed him to legally rid the street of evil, and he was good at it. When a beautiful woman is attacked by carjackers and her life is in danger from the criminals, Zacke arrives on the scene, just in time to save her. Miranda is a surgeon, and she is captivated by her rescuer. What she doesn't know is that he is over 200-years-old, a vampire, and is also attracted to her. This fact is soon known by his maker, Gabriella, who believes that Zacke belongs to her and begins committing vicious attacks in retaliation. Can Zacke stop her before she targets Miranda who doesn't even know that he is a vampire?
Faith Smith weaves a story that is full of action, romance, and vengeance. The hero is strong and mysterious, and the heroine is beautiful and intelligent. This book has an interesting story-line, not the usual run-of-the-mill vampire story, and my only criticism would be for the illustration on the cover. The image of Zacke is quite dated and would not appeal to young adult readers who may not read the book as a result.
If there's a way for a vampire to regain his soul, love may be the way. Faith Smith's southern charm permeates this Savannah set vampire novel. Witty southern colloquialism mixes well with downright sexy, making this a thoroughly enjoyable twist on the traditional fanged paranormal tale.
