Overview

Kate Lawrence is a single mom who is newly divorced and ill-prepared without a college degree or profession. She moves to her small Kentucky hometown to make a new life for her daughter and herself. Carrying emotional baggage with her, Kate is not sure she is ready for the man she finds living right next door.

A confirmed bachelor, Scott Gray thinks he’s gotten over Kate, but when he finds out who his new tenant is going to be, he's surprised at the depth of his reaction. Carrying a torch for someone who hasn't given him a thought in years is ridiculous. There is no time like the present to grow up and move on. But does he really want to do it?

Another Kentucky thoroughbred horse farm romance by this author and it’s a doozie! I particularly love this story because it is a second chance romance, which I’ve been the beneficiary of in my own life. Kate divorced her “cold” scheming husband of ten years and Scott was the guy Kate left behind following their childhood sweetheart romance. As it turned out, Scott had been harboring a love for Kate ever since she left but had to tread lightly when Kate returned home to start over with her daughter because Kate was feeling all kinds of remorse, low self-esteem and a strong duty to “make it up” to her daughter. The sparks flew from Scott’s and Kate’s encounters but their friends and Kate’s daughter were determined to push them toward a happy-ever-after. A really fun romance!
