I wasn't sure if I would like this book or not, but since it was free I figured I had nothing to lose. What I discovered was how much I loved this story. The characters are amazing and I found myself wanting to know more about them. Kevin Domenic draws you in with the back stories and the adventures waiting at every turn. I can't wait to read his next book and find out how the story progresses.

Why does everyone write tales of space faring people who do battle with bows and arrows and swords? Oh, and magic of course. Just another rehash of the same storyline.
What bothered me the most was the teenage girl whose weapon was a whip ... just a whip. Yet she managed to overpower/defeat/kill 20 men, but only sometimes.

Awesome story, and dont be put out by the book cover design if you dont like it. It is just the authers view if the the well devoleped characters in this amazin story. Suprised the other books are only 99 cents. Will definetly buy more.

I'm enjoying this sci-fi series very much. I think it's got very relatable characters and good dialogue, a few different storylines that I am interested in seeing how they converge, and a nice evolving backstory. I've only completed the first book, which does leave one on a cliffhanger, so I am very much looking forward to reading the rest.

I have been debating whether this should be the next book I read or not. I have a lot of freebies and "cheap"books hogging the shelf of my NT and I knew I wanted to get into something new. At first, I wasn't sure about this book. I am not someoe who reads a lot of "fantasy" books. I mostly enjoy mysteries. I had my concerns but the cover kept catching my eye when I would look through my books. I finally read the description last week and decided it sounded like something that could be fun. I was RIGHT! This was the best adventure I've been on in a long time. I think this book was more exciting than my vacation I just came back from! Not only did I enjoy reading this book but I continue to read on to the next two books. It is a series where at the end you are screaming MORE!
I'm happy I read this. So, to Mr. Domenic, you will be happy to know that I am placing your book out of the "Freebies" section of my nook into my bookshelf named "Must Read Again". Thank you for giving me an adventure that I didn't have to leave my home to experience it!

Earth humans fight with swords and arrows against lasers and "magic" yet win multiple times.
The dialog is forced and the author gives too much detailed description on EVERYTHING.

I read it twice and for those who dont know me that may not seem like anything important but it is. I never read books twice cos i think it's a waiste of time. But it wasn't with this one. Im thinking about getting the next book for sure. im ready for what next! keep up the good work man!

I got this book for free and picked up the rest of the books. I read the series last month. I like the characteres and think it was a fun adventure. Hope the story continues soon.........
