Ex–Navy SEAL Dusky MacMorgan survived a military hell only to find it again where he least expected it—as a fisherman trolling the Gulf Stream in his thirty-foot clipper. His new life is shattered when a psychotic pack of drug runners turns the turquoise waters red with the blood of his beloved family. Trained in the lethal arts, Dusky has only one recourse. Armed with an arsenal so hot it could blow the Florida coast sky-high, he’s tracking the goons responsible—right into the intimate circle of a corrupt U.S. Senator iving beyond the law in his own island fortress. This was my first Randy Wayne White book. I found it very entert

This was my first Randy Wayne White book. I found it very entertaining and easy read. I loved the history of the area the book provided and loved the characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a little suspense and a little love story. Ended up purchasing the whole series.

    more from this reviewer

Fun to read his first published novel - stereotypes and all

You have to read the author's introduction in order to fully appreciate this fast-moving, stereotype-packed book. It's funny to know that there were a certain number of characteristics imposed upon the (at the time) young author's main character, and then to read how he makes them work in the first several pages.

I bought this book while on vacation in the Keys, and you do get a nice feeling for the area.

This is not high-level fiction, but it is pretty enjoyable and a short read. I was still impressed to know that it was written in only 9 days!
