Most art books concentrate on improving skill, technique, etc. That's all well and good, but not if you're stuck in a creative rut. Skill and technique don't have a lot of impact unless you've got something creative to put it into. This book helped. The author tries to get it into the reader to enjoy the process of drawing, and let something creative come out of the process. Worth the money if you're bored with what you've been getting on paper lately. Enjoy!
I have had this book for 1 year. It was one of the first drawing books that I read and my favorite so far. I like the excercises in the book. I think I will be reading it time and again as I progress.
I am VERY pleased with the quality of the book and the speedy delivery. Love buying books this way.
I've not seen another book like this one. I finally bought it after checking it out from the library several times. It's approach is unusual, as it incorporates doodling, algorithms and other exercises to jump start creative drawing.
This book has so many axamples of how other successful artists create on paper. The author has knowledge first hand from some of the best in the field through the past half century. That makes me feel comfortable spending time with this book. It can help you find natural ways for you to draw. I find myself comfortable doing certain things. This book leads me into other processes that I haven't previously explored.
