Overview

The revelation on this CD anthology spotlighting three New Orleans greats and one West Coast blues legend (Charles Brown) was the late Willie Tee. Tee, who died in 1993, was known for his soulful vocals and skillful writing, but was undervalued as a pianist. He demonstrated with his voicings and solos on "Can It Be Done" and "In The Beginning" that he also merited attention as a keyboard stylist. Charles Brown turned in his customary polished, first-rate vocal and instrumental job on his three tunes, while Eddie Bo's singing exceeded his piano playing and Art Neville demonstrated again why he should do more recording outside the arenas of the Neville Brothers and the Meters.
