    Catch This Khatchaturian!

This highly affordable recording gives listeners easy access to the flashy, brilliant orchestral showpieces of Armenian composer, Aram Khatchaturian. The Spartacus Suite is incredible. The strings play with rhythmic integrity and drive. The rhythmic changes are smooth. Also, the slow, softer sections are well-engineered, always leading to the typical Khatchaturian fast, showy endings. All of the pieces have good musical and emotional contrast. The listener will also enjoy the Sabre Dance, another brilliant highlight of this wonderful set of works.
