Editorial Reviews

Email Review - Josh Santori
It’s like a handbook on how a kid should live. Every time I read it I find something new to help me. It is a great story, too – well really four stories in one book. Josh Santori, age 14
Email review - Jacki Abington
Kidd has to be the wisest kid ii nth World. DI loved Gramps, too. He’s just how a parent needs to be. I’m waiting for the next book. Jacki Abington 9th grader
Teen Review - Beth Langly
All 11 to 14 year olds should read this book and then hand it to their parents to read. A wonderful story with excitement and adventure. Lots of wonderful and meaningful conversations all young teens need to have. I’m a social worker and I’ll recommend to lots of the families I see.
Email - William F Mackey, DD
As a minister, I seldom recommend a book that doesn’t reference God, but even lacking that, this is the most uplifting book for 10 to 15 year olds I’ve seen in the past 25 years – maybe longer.
Email Review - Patricia Miller
I’m in love with Grampa. My 12 year old daughter is in love with Kidd. We both love the book’s ideas about living the good life.

Meet the Author

The author has been writing for young people for many years (and older people, too). In all he has created close to 100 books and many hundred short stories. He and his wife helped raise lots of troubled foster boys, which gives him first-hand experience on which to draw. Many of his stories pair a man and a boy as they work together to solve some problem or work through some situation. He loves young people and hopes that each of his books brings not only fun and excitement but also something useful that can help improve the readers’ lives. (David Drake is a pen name of Tom Gnagey – easier to pronounce, wouldn’t you agree!).
