Mentally and physically exhausted following a difficult shift, she's suddenly jolted from her stupor when she's bound and gagged, then tossed into the back of her car. Forced to tend a bleeding FBI agent and his injured witness, she's terrified. But Samantha quickly learns the rogue agent and orphaned boy need more than just her professional skills. Danger is bearing down on them, and she must learn to trust Jake-and her heart- if they're all going to survive.

    Great Writing! Exciting Story!

If you like romantic suspense you won't be disappointed. Ms Ferrell turns in another winner. You can't help but fall in love with the hero as he struggles to save Nicky's life. Jake does what he has to do despite being wounded himself.

Ferrell's writing is vivid and she makes each scene come alive with telling details. I thought the heroine's inner thoughts were intriguing and fun when in the middle of being kidnapped, trussed up on the floor of her suburban, she's thinking she really should've vacuumed. That made me like her right away. Oh, she panicked at the appropriate time. But she felt so real to me in that moment when the trash made her feel like she should've cleaned.

    Check out the Edgars Family

I have now read books 1 and 2 in this series and have enjoyed both. I happen to be a sucker for stories involving families and children. Will eventually read the rest of the series.

    Suspense

Great book. The chemistry between Jake and Sami is hot. The suspense keeps you on your toes, you never guess who it is until the end. If you like a good romantic suspense this is a great pick.

Suzanne Ferrell hits the ground running and never stops in Kidna

Suzanne Ferrell hits the ground running and never stops in Kidnapped. From the introduction of Jake Carlisle and his young injured witness to the very last page the pace is fast and furious. The characters work their way into your heart and you can’t stand not knowing what plot twist is coming in the next chapter. This is definitely they type of book that can cause a book hang over.
Lone wolf, Jake Carlisle has baggage. His emotional scars from childhood as well as an important witness that can help him shut down a new branch of the Russian mafia. The witness is a precocious little nine year old boy. Guilt riddles our FBI hero as he deals with the results of the child being tortured which leads him to kidnap Samantha Edgars, an emergency room nurse.
Fate was on Jake’s side when Samantha left her shift early. Little did he know, she had her very own set of emotional baggage.  Sami didn’t intend to go quietly into anything with her kidnapper. Being the baby in her family, her older brothers made sure she had some mad skills. Being an emergency room nurse gave her the ability to step out of herself and see things objectively, except when it came to Jake.
The fates brought these two together. They need each other for so much more than sizzle, which they have in spades. This book has me ready to purchase the next in the series, even with the book hangover; I’m ready for more Edgars’ Family!

I loved reading this book and cannot wait to purchase the rest of the series! Ms. Ferrell writes with extraordinary flair and her brash and daring character of FBI agent Jake Carlisle is so engaging that I felt like I knew him personally! Nicky however, steals the story as he is such a heart-rendering character! ER nurse Samantha Edgars is a very independent but tortured woman whose life intersects with these two and a beautiful story of love and trust emerges! I truly enjoyed reading about these characters and cannot wait to read about Samantha's heroic brothers in her next book!!!

    Fabulous

    ## I definitely enjoyed reading this book. The heroine was amazingly strong, capable and loving. It took me a while to warm up to the hero, because of how he treated the heroine in the beginning. Also, the fact that he slept with young prostitutes was a turn off for me. But it is definitely still worth your time and money.
