Kids ABC Phonics is the second game of our preschool reading curriculum series. It is preceded by our best-selling Kids ABC Letters and followed by Kids Learn to Read which was featured on May 11th at the Google I/O Developer conference in San Francisco.

With Kids ABC Phonics, your kids will learn the alphabet letter sounds – guaranteed!

★★★ What won't my children learn? ★★★
Kids ABC Phonics teaches letter sounds and the basics of blending, but does not teach the next step, which is fluency in actual reading. Developing reading skills is a separate educational goal, which is covered in a separate upcoming game, called Kids Learn to Read, which was featured at the Google I/O on May 11th. Including in-depth reading skills in Kids ABC Phonics would detract from the focus of this game and make it too complex to invite and delight children.

★★★ What activities are included in this game? ★★★
The game has four wonderfully child-friendly sections.

➊ Learn Letter Sounds. Kids hold and turn a picture-filled letter block and hear the ABC phonics being pronounced.

➋ Build Letter Blocks. Children have fun building phonics recognition skills by making their own ABC blocks.

➌ Pop Letter Bubbles. Kids love to pop bubbles. But don't be fooled. By the time children are done with this game, they will know what letter goes with which sound by heart.

➍ Make words. While putting puzzles together, kids learn the basics of phonics blending. These skills will be further exercised and expanded in the upcoming Kids Reading game.

Every section is designed so children enjoy success time after time and receive positive reinforcement from the likable lady teacher. So they want to keep learning.

    Excellent for children learning to read

    I purchased this app while looking for some fun learning apps for my daughters. It is probably one of the best phonics apps with multiple learning games. Perfect for a 4+ yr old looking to learn to read. I highly recommend.

    Now that it works

    There are 4 sections for learning. I think my 2 and 5 year old will enjoy it. Hes learning phonics in kindergarten and Im hoping it helps him.

    Pretty good for young kids!

    I have 3 boys 5,3 and 1 and they all can learn in the area they need to with this app! Very good way to them learning in a fun way!

    Good

    I think this is really more for children who are just learning. My son is 4 and I can see it is not challenging enough for him. I would ask them to change a few things. For the puzzle, the pieces are always the same color. I can see a child whom isn't familiar with puzzles figure out the blue piece is first, yellow second and so on. There are only a few words for the puzzle. I think there could be words added, a lot more. Also the vowels sounds are not always the right one for the word, ie: sort vs long. But again, I think for a beginner it will be great.

    Lots of fun

    I bought this for my 4 year old and he enjoys it greatly and has seen much improvement in his letter sounds. Most times he does not want me to use the nook because i might mess up his game.

    TOO Easy??

    My 4-yr old granddaughter did this twice and got bored, told me it was too easy. Makes me wonder.......
