Shelby's life in Soundview has always been comfortable. Her dad provides a luxurious lifestyle for his family through his photography business. He makes a ton of money taking headshots of pretty young teens who are desperate to become models. Shelby has always enjoyed driving around town in a red sports car, shopping with her best friend at her side. And her Mom is laidback,so it's all good.

However, as reports of girls disappearing from nearby towns start to appear on the news, Shelby's seemingly perfect life begins to fall apart. The three missing girls have one thing in common—they were all clients of her dad's photography business. Secrets begin to surface as the investigation continues. Shelby receives threatening e-mails, battles the nosy media, and tries to keep her family together. Now that her dad is implicated in the disappearances, can Shelby figure out a way to clear his name? Or is dad not as innocent as he seems?

Eighteen-year-old Shelby Sloan is an upper middle class high school senior living with her mom and photographer dad. Three girls who were clients at her dad's photography studio are reported missing and when he is considered the prime suspect, her life starts to unravel. Then Shelby discovers that not only was her dad running a modeling scam to make money but also hitting on some of the girls. This proves particularly devastating since Shelby has always been closer to her dad than to her mom. Even when she is hounded by the press and ostracized by her classmates, her best friend Roman stands by her. In order to prove her dad's innocence she joins forces with Whit, a journalism student at nearby Sarah Lawrence College. The surprise ending is a bit of a shocker but seems logical as the story evolves. Writing for a high school audience, Strasser refers to casual teen sex, beer-drinking and high school relationships. The high school student dialogue rings true and although most teens this age will not have experienced the lifestyle, they will enjoy reading about it. The story will most likely appeal to female readers. This title concludes the "thrill"-ogy that began with Wish You Were Dead and Blood on My Hands. Reviewer: Michele Lauer-Bader

Gr 8 Up—Strasser introduces another affluent Soundview resident: high school senior Shelby Sloan. Her father is the chief suspect and only link in an investigation of three missing girls who booked him and his staff to shoot their modeling portfolios. In addition to regular, icy looks and attitudes from students, Shelby deals with constant media coverage and aggressive reporters outside her house. Her life upheaval also includes menacing emails implying that there's more to her dad than she realizes. Convinced that he is not a killer and encouraged by her friend Roman, Shelby begins her own investigation. The deeper she digs, the darker the secrets become, revealing the sketchy pasts of her father and his staff. All of the titles in this cyberthriller trilogy stand alone, but readers who pick up one are likely to enjoy the others. However, Strasser steps up his pacing and story line for Shelby's story. The large list of suspects and number of secrets revealed will keep readers engaged in the rapidly unfolding plot, while the technology embedded into the narrative will appeal most to those who utilize it.—Adrienne L.     Amazing

    This book catches you from the very first page it has twists and turns and the best twist ending ever, this guy should get the O henrey award for the ending!
