Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.Between the years of 1998-2000, eight college kids in Georgia were kidnapped in pairs and the first of the duo was killed immediately. The first victim had clues on their person that if properly interpreted in time would lead the authorities to the other victim who might still be alive. Of the eight victims of the UNSUB, only one was found alive and that was because special agent Michael ¿Mac¿ McCormack was able to put the pieces of the puzzle together in time.
For three years, the UNSUB goes dormant but when FBI agent-in-training Kimberly Whey finds a dead body on the grounds of Quanta¿s, it quickly becomes obvious that the UNSUB has become active again. Even though he is out of his jurisdiction, Mac travels to Virginia with every intention of tracking down the UNSUB and capturing him if possible. He has unexpected allies in Kimberely, her father, a famous FBI profiler, and the UNSUB¿S only victim that is still alive.
THE KILLING HOUR is all about time and the race to find the victims before they die. Thanks to dogged investigation into areas that are dangerous to one¿s health, two victims are left standing after the UNSUB is revealed. Mac and Kimberly make a good investigative team whose strengths, when combined, make them an unbeatable force out in the field. They also are able to lean on one another in times of stress and it is fascinating to watch their relationship evolve throughout the story and behind closed doors. Lisa Gardner is becoming a major player in the suspense thriller genre.

So, I started reading this book and only stopped because I had to go to work the next day. I may have been afraid to go to sleep because this is a dark and frightening book; a must read with the lights on.

This was my third Lisa Gardner book. Now I see a pattern in her books and its fun to try and figure out which character is the killer. Even when you think you figured it out, she throws for a loop. Can not wait to read more.

I absolutely loved this book. It definitely keeps you guessing. I can't understand why some people have written that the characters are dull, I thought the entire book was well written. This was the first of Gardner's book I had read, it inspired me to buy more, and now I have them all. So far I have enjoyed each and every one of her books!

I felt this book started slow & remained that way until the middle. It was difficult for me to keep all the names straight. I had to keep referring to earlier passages in the book to remember who was who. The ending was good, as are most of Gardner's books. I don't feel this was one of her better books, but if you are a Gardner fan, she does keep you guessing up to the very end, if you can manage to keep all the facts straight throughout the book!

This book was suggested to me by my mother, and it gave me just another reason to adore her. This book had just the right mix of romance and suspense. I am now going through and reading all her earlier books.
