Lyons was a personal trainer for years before she was asked to become a trainer on the popular NBC reality television program The Biggest Loser, in which overweight contestants compete to lose weight. The fitness plan she describes here involves three increasingly challenging levels of circuit training (cardio, resistance training, and flexibility training); a nutrition plan based on high-quality complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and healthy fats; and a basic focus on goals, positive attitude, and journal keeping. Lyons clearly describes and illustrates (with photographs of the fit author) dozens of exercises and shares several of her clients' individual weight-loss experiences throughout. Information and motivation are key to a successful fitness program, and Lyons provides both in this helpful new book. Recommended for public libraries. (High-quality final photographs not seen.)

I am completely impressed with this book. It is full of excellent information, that most of us have read before.The way Kim has presented it is fabulous. I don't need to reference or read 5 books, I just need to have one, which is Your Body, Your Life!!!

The fitness goals and exercises laid out in this book are both effective & realistic. I was able to follow the program while on a moving ship in the middle of the ocean, with just some sets of dumbbells and cardio equipment!

This is a fabulous book that discusses all important aspects of fitness. i love the bits of advice, the natural approach to food and living. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay fit, get more into exercision and living a better life!

This is by far one of the best fitness/wellbeing books Ive read. Kim's approach is real and very attainable for the average person. She gives you so much nutritional knowledge and her exercise routines are basic and easy to learn. I agree with her philosophy that sometimes going 'back to basics' is all you need. Thanks Kim!

i have watched Kim on TV and figured why not give her book a start for my usual new year's resolution of losing weight. The purchase has definitely been worth it. I am already seeing a difference after just two weeks. I havent tried the recipes yet but i soon will. So far the steps for losing weight are very motivational at make your goals seem attainable. I love it how she tells you to just take it one step at a time. Instead of working on a bunch of muscle groups at the same time. Follow the chapters and you will see the results. Giving away my 50 other fitness books and replacing with this one! definitely recommend this book.

I just got this book, and it has really motivated me to get off my duff and get back in the gym after the holidays.. I really needed this to get motivated again!!! (also, the recipes that I have tried have been great!) thanks kim!!!!!

I've always found Kim to be so positive and inspiring on Biggest Loser and the book was really surprising. It was so much more than what I was expecting (workout moves--thought it has that too) as it has information on everything from nutrition to body type to evaluating your posture type and telling you what muscles to focus on to improve that as well. Best thing is that I'm finding it really inspiring to jump start my 2008 resolutions and I've already dropped a jeans size. Highly recommend.

I have to say - I have every fitness book known to man, but this is absolutely the best one I have come across in years. First of all - it's gorgeous - full color, beautiful photography - very girly and fresh. But the content is what makes it really special. The book literally takes you by the hand and leads you through the whole process of making a commitment to living a healthy lifestyle. Kim Lyons conveys her wealth of information in a fun, easy to read way that is non-threatening and very encouraging. The workouts are challenging but doable, and the recipes outstanding - Love the shrimp diablo! I recommend this book to anyone at any level who wants to make working out and good nutrition part of their life.

This book really provides a unique way to approach fitness. Instead of making it this huge goal that is hard to reach, Kim teaches you to make it a part of your life. I also love that it hits on emotional and physical fitness! Such a refreshing take on health and fitness and presented in such an easy way to adapt to your life.

Great book! It talks about all the aspects that you would need to address in order to gain complete fitness--diet and nutrition tips as well as all the little steps that you need to follow in order to become physically fit. Very well-written with nice illustrations.
