Overview

Prince Darathe Caloran is Kithe's rightful Heir Apparent, but another nobleman from Kithe is heading a rebellion against the ruling emperor Greston Dorendi to gain control. Darathe returns to Kithe to present his claim to the Kithean throne before Marquis Liano Zakira seizes control; but at only sixteen years of age, he doesn't feel ready to be a king.

Despite King Kayano Rithael's backing, Marquis Liano is unwelcoming to Darathe, the people of Kithe are in dire want, and Darathe sn't sure he can trust his cousin, Grand Duke Rayan Regani; especially after Rayan appears to fall in with Liano. Will the Kitheans accept Darathe after his less-than-noble street days?

With their support, Darathe stands a good chance of wresting Kithe from Greston Dorendi on equal terms. If he has to fight his own countrymen before he faces Greston, regaining Kithe without King Kayano's help may cost him his life.
