love this book as a child, now sharing it with my nieces and nephews

This was one of my favorite books as a kid. It suddenly came to my mind this week and I decided to go by it for my niece, 7, and nephew, 5. They loved it! And I still love it. Beautiful pictures, easy to read, hilarious story, AND the kids will want to read it again. So worth it.

    Great, great, great!!!!

Both my 5 year old and 3 year old love this story. The king just won't get out of the tub - everyone tries! We use different voices for the characters - it is so much fun! Every once in awhile a book comes along that you just will treasure forever....this is it!

King Bidgeood's in the Bathtub- Audrey Wood

'Help! Help! King Bidgood's in the bathtub and he won't get out! Oh, who knows what to do?' Would you know what to do? The king is in the bathtub and no one seems to be able to get them out. How on earth do you get a king out of the bathtub? The knight thinks he knows by telling the king that its time to battle but the king responds, 'Come in. Today we battle in the tub!' No one knows what to do...or does some ones? Read and you will find out. King Bidgeood's in the bathtub is a wonderful fun story. The illustrations are timeless and remind me of old english pictures. The illustrations throughout this book give great detail. If you read this book you must take the time to look at all of the pictures closely to see how much thought and detail goes into each drawing. A wonderful book to read to 5-8 year olds, or even older. This book is sure to brighten your day. Wood, Audrey. KING BIDGOOD'S IN THE BATHTUB. San Diego, 1985.

    Cute Book

'King Bidgood's in the Bathtub' by Audrey and Don Wood is a really cute book. I coudln't put it down, I wanted to know how they were going to get the King out of the bathtub. Audrey made a simple task of getting out of the bathtub into something funny and exciting. The book wouldn't be what it is though without its amazing illustrations done by Don. After reading the storyline on the page you take a good 5 mintues to try to take in all the detail on the pages. These two people are very talented and have many awards including a 1986 Caldecott Medal for 'King Bidgood's in the Bathtub.' This is a book that would be great to have in the classroom for fun and when reading it outloud asking the students what they think. It would be a great discussion book.

A Definite Way to Brighten Anyone's Day

I don't think there is anything anyone could ever say to me to make me change my mind about this book. I have loved this book ever since I first read it as a child. Everyone I know who has read it has enjoyed it also. This book is hysterically funny, and even adults will find themselves laughing at the silliness of the king as well as the silly illustrations to accompany the story. Although I am not sure how Audrey Wood came up with the idea for this one, I am sure glad that she did. This book was a very important part of my childhood, and has been handed down to all of my siblings as well. 'King Bidgood's in the Bathtub' is a wonderful way to brighten any child's day. It will more than likely brighten the day of any adult also.
