Overview

Nothing’s sexier than seven men with hot rods.

Hot Rods, Book 1

After Eli’s mother died, his father honored her life’s mission as a social worker by taking in several kids from the wrong side of the tracks. Not all of them stuck, but those who did became Eli’s quasi family.

Their bonds, forged in fires set by their personal demons, are unbreakable—or so Eli wants to believe. Especially since he and Alanso, his best friend and head mechanic, witnessed the overpowering allure of polyamory while visiting the Powertools crew.

Much as Eli would like to deepen the relationships among his foster brothers and sister in the Hot Rods Restoration Team, he’s hesitant to risk everything on a quick romp behind a stack of tires.

But when Eli catches Alanso exploring their mutual fantasy at a known hookup spot in a public park, all bets are off. And Eli must decide if it’s time to jump in full throttle—and trust his instincts to guide him through the night. If the pair can dodge the potholes in their own relationship, maybe they can race together toward the unconventional arrangement with Mustang Sally they both desire.

Warning: Fasten your seatbelts, this is going to be a wild (and naughty) ride!

Let me start by saying that I am a fan of Jayne Rylon, and I really enjoyed her Power Tools series. So this really isn't a case of "I don't like this genre, so I will blast the book." The fact of the matter is, that this just wasn't a good book. Eli, who is supposed to be the Cobra, the big leader, is passive and lacking in confidence. There was nothing "leader" about him. Al was cool, and a little more of a leader, and more confident, but he wasn't supposed to be the leader. There was one poly scene, but it was kind of gross and half hearted. Otherwise, it was a M-M romance, and one without heat, or character development. You didn't get to know any of the other characters beyond their names and the fact that they really, really support eachother. The whole deal with the Power Tools series was the effortless group thing that they have going. But this wasn't about the group at all. This was about two of the guys pairing up. And that wasn't even handled well. Sorry, I just found it disappointing.

So glad I only tried one of the books in the series - the first one left me wanting something so much better.  I'm sorry I wasted the money for this - it was too short and it didn't really get the job done. Characters were very one dimensional. There wasn't any story line really and it isn't a complete book.

Great spin-off from the Powertool series. Nice to see the formation of a polyamorous relationship from what would have to be a very confusing beginning. The only negatives are that I wish it was longer and I really hate to wait for the rest of the series. I want to see what happens with Sally and the rest of the Hot Rod crew. 280 pgs.

Totally F - in HOT! Loved it. Looking forward to reading Sally's story soon. Yes it might appear similar to powertools, but the Hot Rods group is different. I'm enjoying learning about the guys' history. Enjoy it.

Jayne has done it again! From Powertools to now Hot Rods. This series shows you building of the bond between the crew. I look forward to getting to know Eli and the rest of the hot rods better and watch their relationship bloom.

WOW!!!  Loved every single moment of this!  What an excellent way to branch into the new series.  New characters but with contacts to the old.  Just as hot as the crew but with added spice!  Al & Eli are amazing characters.  The strength, love and trust that all of the Hot Rods have for each other promises to only get better!  My one regret....having to wait for the next installment!  Can't wait to read Mustang Sally!  This is one of the best next steps in a series that I've read.  Anyone that loved the Power Tools series will NOT be disappointed by the Hot Rods!

I bought this because i loved the "powertools" series... this book does have a lot of m/m action... but its hot! It started this series a little slower than i had hoped... im ready for more group stuff... but i am very much ready to read the next book. I did like that it was realistic and the characters struggled with the decisions they made. Recommended for someone who likes dirty books and doesnt mind male on male action... or group sex.

This book is just great really. The crew books you see what it's like as an established group adds more members, with the Hot Rods you get a chance to see how that bond formed from the beginning. And it doesn't hurt that the characters are so well developed that it's easy to form a bond with them. A book is always more enjoyable when the characters are so developed that you can easily imagine them being real people out there in the world some where. Really it all boils down to the fact that I adore this book and am eagerly awaiting the next installment.
