King isn't who she thought. She wasn't even close...

When Mia Turner's life becomes tethered to a mysterious billionaire, who she swears is the devil himself, she knows she must break free. It doesn't matter if everything about him--those sinful lips, those pale gray eyes, that perfect male body--keeps her awake at night. He's evil. She has to get away.

But when this man, known simply as King, suddenly disappears, Mia will discover she's not home free. Because without King, she's no longer safe from his ruthless, depraved, power-hungry social circle.

To survive, Mia will have to conceal King's absence and walk a mile in the evil man's twisted, cruel shoes. What she discovers will leave her more terrified and her heart more conflicted than she ever imagined.

King is not who she thought. She wasn't even close.

Editorial Reviews - Noel Wallace
"Ok so can I just say HOLYSH**BALLS BATMAN!!!!!!!!!! I did not even see this coming I really thought I might know who KING was but I was no where near close. When I say this book had me from the start and had me biting my nails from the suspense I am not lying." - Leigh Reviewer
5 STARS! "The writing was so suspenseful and well done that I couldn't put it down, and the sexual tension and racing storyline more than made up for the lack of nudity. The characters were complex and a little bit snarky, and I couldn't put the book down until I found out who or even what King was." - TJ Lovestories
5 STARS! "A both thrilling and shocking race against time to find answers and solve problems walking in an inexplicable man's shoes."

Love this book. Mimi makes you invest in the characters, and makes you want for more. Nothing is ever what it appears on the surface. Can't wait for her to finish the final book in the series. King for a Day just makes you wish she would write faster. A must read for anyone who loves her books.

3.99 to get the 2nd part of a story too and still have to buy the 3rd to get the whole thing??? Ridiculous! The first was 178pgs, how long is this one?? I am betting it's not any longer. Feeling pretty cheated by these authors. s.

This is the second book in this fabulous new series by MiMi Jean. I may end up addicted to Dramamine and I believe I have more gray hairs, thanks MIMI! Seriously, The woman can weave a crazy, exciting, nerve rattling tale. Did I mention that I have loved everything she has written? No, I didn't mention it, but it is so true. Looks like I will go crazy waiting for the next book in this series. Mimi, you are awesome even though you torture me!

You know, i loved this second part of the book but im still really mad that the author just broke a book into three pieces and is selling them as seperate books. Its stupid and irritating! These three books or more than three (im not sure) are actually ONE book! Big cliffhanger again. And this second book is rather short for 3.99.

Great writing. Just the way I like it. Lots of mystery, romance, and clever twists. This book keeps you guessing all the way. Who is he? Who is she? Who are they? What Is going on. You'll want more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Kept me on edge the whole time. A fun and fast read. I can't decide if I like or dislike King. He is very interesting. He reminds me a bit of Guy and Kinich. I look forward to the end. Mimi, you write wonderful cliff hangers. Keep up doll!

“Even if I could get away, I don’t know if I want to. I’ve fallen into his trap. He owns me.” King for a Day is book two in The King Trilogy by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. I thought book one was suspenseful but this one had me biting my nails, gasping, clutching anything nearby for support, and basically freaking out. So, in other words, I loved it. King is missing. Mia has no idea where he is or even if he is still alive. One at a time, Mia finds clues that bring her closer to understanding King. And little by little, she puts the pieces together. Nothing is as she thought. Nothing at all! King has left several deals unfinished and in the 10 Club, if you don’t follow through on a deal, you lose all your property. That would include Mia and Mack. So Mia has less than twenty four hours to try to complete all of King’s deals. Basically she is playing King for a day. This task, though she thought she had it all thought out, turns out to be much more complicated than she thought. She is double crossed at every turn. Mia knows her hours are running out. That she has very little time left until they come for her. Until her life will be over. “The only thing I knew for certain was that King was a complex creature, motivated by his suffering, driven toward one final goal, though I didn’t know what that was.” The more Mia learns about King, the more her feelings change for him. Underneath that cold exterior, there is pain, lots of pain. Even with everything she has learned, though, she still has doubts as to whether she could ever really trust him. “I’d begun to see that the line between good and bad was far more blurred than I’d ever imagined.” “How far could I walk in King’s shoes before I was the person searching for salvation?” This book is one non-stop nail biter. We learn so many truths in this book. Everything finally starts to make sense. But, King still wants that artifact, and even though Mia has seen flickers of goodness in him, he will do whatever it takes to get it. He gives Mia half truths and manipulates her into doing as he wishes. Since the first book, Mia has gone through so much, and changed so much. She still struggles to accept all these new facts of life she never knew existed. But she has gotten so much tougher. And let me tell you, once she has had enough, once her emotional capacity is filled up, you best get out of the way. All that anger has to go somewhere and it most surely does. So buckle your seat belts for this one because it’s one wild ride. Many truths are revealed, but there are still so many questions. And yes, there is a cliff hanger. But I am continuing right on to book three, King of Me, to see how Mia and King‘s story ends. “I will never share you. I will never trade you. I will never leave you. You are mine, and I will not let you go.”

Well there are certainly lots more twist and turns in this second book with still more missed opportunities of hot sex because this crazy woman does not understand nor appreciate her gift and the opportunity to have it all! So onward I go for the 3rd book in hopes that all will be well in the world and the villan will be consigned to hades permanently....

Loved the secondj book. To me the cost was okay because the book was worth it. If the first book didn't keep your attention then don't continue......but I bet you will....the first one was free so that should make you decide if you want to continue and I think they are worth it. I might even look to see them in paper back. I have read hundreds of books and only keep a few and this one is going to be a keeper. It's not like a lot of other books where the girl falls badly in love with the man, but fights her attraction because he is so evil. In this book she finds out more about him and he isn't even around. Things aren't as they seem so don't think you have figure the story line out because it keeps changing. I love the story line.

This is a great trilogy, but dark. Not for you if you are looking for an always happy, cheerful world. However, the suspense is wonderful! Who is King? What is King? I read a lot and this trilogy is unique and original. A must read!

This series gets better and better. Reminds me of Karen Marie Moning's Fever series but I am liking this better, and the conclusion is available now, while we still wait for KMM to finish Fever after all these years. King is much hotter than Baron LOL!
