Overview

Evil bides its time, ever waiting to breach the thin veil. Action and reaction join to swing the pendulum toward anarchy and destruction. Chaos reigns. The Demon lurks in the dark recesses.

The possibility exists that it can't be destroyed. Evil will endure. It can't be taken, cured, or overcome. Night will cover the world no matter what. Faith may not be enough. Love may not survive.

Amidst deception, temptation and fear, the last choice is made, the ultimate sacrifice taken. Father bequeaths unto son. Natural order must be restored. Those who are chosen to die may live, while those who are chosen to live may not make it through.

The fate of the universe, of a kingdom, of a family...of one man is decided. The final battle is at hand.

Meet the Author

Author Jolea M. Harrison has been writing for as long as she can remember, when around the age of eight she dreamed up an epic tale of a young princess in search of the King’s approval, who went out and killed the evil monster none of the knights could slay! This short story was even illustrated on 3 x 5 cards. After reading The Lord of the Rings, the fantasy bug left a permanent mark, which was then complicated by her immediate love of Star Wars and other works of science fiction.

She started her writing career in earnest about 10 years ago when she set out to publish the epic fantasy series, Guardians of the Word, which is eight books in length. The first book of the series, Chosen, was published in June, 2011 and is free at online retailers. Myth, Telepath, Legend, Union, Seer and Adept followed over the course of the year, ending finally with King.

“It’s been more than worth it, and I’ve enjoyed every minute, but especially getting to know the incredibly helpful and wonderful people I’ve met because I took a leap of faith. I’m a writer, a mother and manager of chaos. I try to do too many things at once, like so many of us, but it all usually works out. I love writing. It’s what I’m passionate about and what I want to do above all other things.”

Her other interests are gardening and maintaining her Civil War era home. On a recent fact finding mission about the house, she discovered the name of a young soldier who died there while being cared for by the doctor who owned the house at the time. Sometimes in the evening mists, it’s not unusual to see the shapes of soldiers marching across the fields or hear ‘something’ climbing the stairs. She has two children who firmly believe in ghosts.
