Winter has arrived and the residents of King Island are worried. The seas are too rough to fetch the priest ashore and if they don't get him now, the boat will not be back until spring. When they learn that the seas are calmer on the leeward side, everyone in the villages helps to haul the boat over the hills and to the bay. Father Carroll is brought ashore, and a joyous Christmas celebration is assured. The wonderful story is depicted in Munoz's delightful, stylized watercolors.
